Charlie Demornay: hollywood, los angeles, United States; Charlie Demornay A.K.A Rebecca Hartley was a Melbourne based artist now living in la la land, her work spans illustration, set design, graphic design and mural painting. She is the progenitor of Charlie Demornay's limited edition calendar series. Hand drawn each year, distributed throughout art galleries and book stores. Rebecca also collaborates with various artist including Berlin based design duo Pandarosa on painted large scale works. With industry awards Rebecca Hartley graduated from NMIT Illustration and RMIT Visual Art in 2006. She regularly exhibits her work around Melbourne and over the past four years has run her own design studio in Collingwood. Her commissioned large scale mural work can be seen in Melbourne's public spaces including the Environmental Protection Agency, the iconic Forum Theatre and MoVida restaurant, Her illustration work is fueled by her eclectic interests borrowing from found imagery some of her influences include vintage circus graphics, mysticism, ancient civilisations, Ziegfeld follies, religious iconography and tattooed women. Her work has been described as a product of conscious calculations, a hybrid of the pop surrealism movement.
